The heatmap in the Show resource utilization calendar view visualizes a resource's available capacity. The colors of the cells indicate whether there is sufficient capacity, whether a resource is nearly at full capacity, or whether it is overloaded.

Color	Description
White	Significantly underutilized - there is plenty of capacity available.
Green	Well utilized - there is still capacity available.
Yellow	Close to full capacity - available capacity is limited.
Red	Overloaded - the planned workload exceeds the available capacity.

Heatmap Calculation Logic

For each displayed time period, PPP first calculates a resource’s effective capacity based on the resource calendar and the allocation percentage. The planned effort for the current project and effort from other projects are then subtracted from this value. The result is the remaining capacity, which is used to determine the heatmap color.

▪The resource calendar is taken into account, including workdays, working hours, holidays, vacation, and calendar exceptions.

▪Time periods without working hours, such as weekends or holidays, remain gray or uncolored by default.

▪The display remains consistent across different time scales, such as day, week, month, or quarter.

Calculation Modes

The heatmap can be calculated as a percentage or as an absolute value:

Mode	Description	Empfohlene Verwendung
Percentage	Calculates the percentage of remaining capacity.	Recommended when the display needs to remain consistent regardless of the length of the workday and the zoom level.
Absolute	Calculates the remaining hours per workday.	This is useful when users want to assess workload based on the number of available hours per day.
